If you are a vegan not only for health and nutrition reasons but also for humane or environmental reasons, you must be trying to use vegan products other than food namely clothes or shoes possibly bags and cosmetics. Animal testing is inhumane and everyone should definitely watch this short film.

The film, which will make viewers cry albeit through humour, is from filmmakers Taika Waititi and Ricky Gervais.

The Maori filmmaker is involved in a new campaign for the Humane Society of the United States, and this short film was recently released to audiences. Comedian and actor Ricky Gervais has lent his voice to the director of the short film.

Waititi plays Ralph the bunny in the stop-motion mockumentary-style film. His character aims to raise awareness about the cruel impact of cosmetic testing on animals.

The short documentary is part of the #SaveRalph campaign, a global effort that hopes to end animal testing.

Waititi shared the short post on Instagram, calling the practice of cosmetic animal testing “gross” and “archaic.”

“Let’s work to save animals like Ralph by signing @hsiglobal’s petition to stop animal testing.”

The film was directed by Spencer Russer. In addition to Gervais and Waititi, the film stars Olivia Munn, Zac Efron and Pom Klementieff.

In the film, we see Ralph going through his day in good spirits despite having had severe injuries and illnesses due to his “job” as a cosmetics “tester”.

“I got my fur shaved and got my back chemically burned, it stings a little,” Ralph admits while brushing his teeth.

“It’s nothing major, it just really hurts me when I breathe or move around anything,” he adds.

The short film takes an emotional turn when viewers realize the full extent of Ralph’s injuries as a guinea pig.

Speaking of his rabbit family, he tells the camera “they all died doing their jobs.”

Ralph sheds a tear as a mysterious human hand snatches him from his home to begin his “work” as a tester.

“I know it looks bad, but the way I see it, I’m doing my job, if only one person can have a safer version of lipstick or deodorant then it makes sense,” Ralph says from his cover.

His neighboring bunnies wonder why a camera crew is following him around.

“They’re just watching me, making a documentary or something,” he tells them.

The other rabbits plead, “Can you ask them to get us out of here? I don’t want to die, man!”

A syringe drips fluid into Ralph’s eye and he screams in pain, while the camera focuses on Ralph with multiple injuries.

“I would like to say to all of you who still buy cosmetics tested on animals, like eyeliners, shampoos, sunscreens, pretty much everything in your bathroom … without you and the countries that allow animal testing, I wouldn’t have a job. “
